In this Tamron 28-200 review, I will be writing my personal conclusion for this lens. First, there is apparently some quality control issues with Tamron's Chinese assembly facility inChina. If you buy one and it performs poorly, try another lens before giving up on it. You can simply ask Tamron to replace your lens and they will be glad to do it for you.
I had to send one for replacement. The lens that I finally got is pretty good, but not terrific by any means. It is more than enough for casual use, but I will still be keeping my Canon zoom lens. Also, I will be saving up for a Canon macro lens for some serious shooting stuff.
The retail price for this lens is somewhat ridiculous. The street price of this lens is kind of high for what you get. I would personally buy the Tamron again, but not without a return policy from the seller.
